Union Trust Presents Donation to New MCMH Emergency Center

ELLSWORTH — Camden National Corp. President and Chief Executive Officer Gregory Dufour recently announced that Union Trust, a division of Camden National Bank, presented a check to the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in support of the hospital’s capital expansion campaign.

The awarded funds will be used to build the hospital’s new emergency center to provide expanded access and care in the greater Ellsworth area. In recognition of the company’s support, a unit in the new emergency center will be dedicated to Union Trust.

The hospital’s current Emergency Department, which was built in 1989, was designed to deliver care to 12,000 people per year. With an increasing population in the area, it is now providing emergency care for more than 18,000 people each year, and that number is expected to increase. The new emergency center will have more than three times the amount of space and is scheduled to open in March 2010.

Camden National Bank, a subsidiary of Camden National Corp. is a full-service community bank headquartered in Camden.
