Ukuleles, Pigs at Ellsworth Libary



ELLSWORTH — The University of Maine at Machias Ukulele Club will provide an evening of lively entertainment at the Ellsworth Public Library on Thursday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

 

Light refreshments will be served.

The group is a mix of students, alumni, staff, faculty and the community. They play hundreds of tunes, from “You Are My Sunshine” to Steppenwolf’s “Born to Be Wild.”

The library will also be hosting a celebration of National Pig Day on Monday, March 1.

The event will run all day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A swine shrine will be set up in the display case featuring toys, statues and carvings of pigs. There will be a collection of pig pictures on display and pig gifts to take home. There will be a storytime at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday for 4-5-year-olds featuring a story and craft about pigs.
