Travel talk at NE Harbor Library

MOUNT DESERT — The Northeast Harbor Library is presenting another in its series of recent travel talks on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 5 p.m.

Longtime Northeast Harbor residents Herbert and Sari Thomas will describe their recent travels in England.

Inspired by Judith Blank’s walking in Scotland, but fulfilling a longtime dream of walking in England, they researched and found two walks. One was the Coast to Coast Trail, put together in 1972 by Alfred Wainwright.

Herb and Sari took a train ride to the second part of their walk, the Cotswold Way. This is not as dramatic as the Lake District, being rolling hills and agricultural land. The attraction was the beautiful villages, with honey-colored sandstone, old turf-covered cottages and old churches.

The talk is free and everyone is welcome.
