Trail Work Slated For May 14

ELLSWORTH — The Friends of Green Lake National Fish Hatchery in Ellsworth are sponsoring volunteer days starting on Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to noon to continue construction of the Ed Hastings Memorial Trail.

A free lunch will be provided for volunteers, and gifts will be awarded. All ages are welcome.


Volunteer opportunities include trail cutting and clearing, building foot bridges and kiosks, trail-side interpretive displays and more.

Future Saturdays will be announced. Volunteers should plan to meet at Green Lake National Fish Hatchery on Route 180 at 8:45 a.m. on May 14. Rain date is Sunday, May 15, at the same time.
