BAR HARBOR — The AT&T Mobility cell phone tower proposed for Hulls Cove would be camouflaged as a 125-foot tall pine tree, company officials told the planning board Jan. 20.
According to project attorney Barry Hobbins, AT&T Mobility officials are willing to build a “monopine” tower instead of erecting a traditional, stainless steel pole as they originally intended. The decision to do so was based on planning board member comments, Mr. Hobbins said.
Board members expressed satisfaction with the proposed change.
The public hearing on the project is slated to continue on Wednesday, Feb. 3.
