Think Globally

MOUNT DESERT — The Institute for Integrative Living (IIL) will host the organization’s inaugural event, “Thinking Global, Living Local,” on Friday, Sept. 30 at the Neighborhood House in Northeast Harbor. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

“Thinking Global, Living Local” is an evening devoted to exploring local and sustainable food. Locally sourced hors d’oeuvres will be served followed by opening remarks at 7 p.m. by John Pioti, director of the Maine Farmland Trust. He will be followed by a panel with farmers, leading food advocates and chefs and business owners who utilize local produce.

Johannah Blackman, IIL co-founder, said, “Recently formed, the Institute for Integrative Living is an organization committed to exploring the ways in which all of life, including our internal worlds, our external relationships and the environment we are a part of, exist in overlapping circles of

connectedness, integrating into one whole.”
