Teen book talk scheduled April 21

BLUE HILL — All are welcome to join Blue Hill Public Library Teen Services Librarian Kendall Chapman for an online teen book talk on Wednesday, April 21, at 4 p.m.

Chapman will highlight themes within the book, discuss positives and negatives and talk about why it’s worth reading. The selection for April 21 is “Furia” by Yamile Saied Méndez. This title has been voted best book of the year by Kirkus Reviews and the New York Public Library, along with receiving the 2021 Pura Belpré Young Adult Author Medal from the American Library Association. “Furia” features a rising soccer star in Argentina who has to grapple with following her dreams and her heart in the face of her family’s expectations.

Every other Wednesday, a new book talk video will be posted to the library’s YouTube channel and videos will be available to view after the premiere.

For more information, contact Chapman at [email protected] or call the library at 374-5515.
