Talk scheduled at Blue Hill Library

BLUE HILL — Kristen Miale, president of Good Shepherd Food Bank, will give a presentation at the Blue Hill Public Library on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. about the state of hunger in Maine, and what her organization is doing to address it.

Maine ranks seventh in the nation for food insecurity, which affects more than 16 percent of the population, including one in five children.

Good Shepherd Food Bank, Maine’s largest hunger-relief organization, has a plan to end hunger in Maine by 2025, including the creation of a new food distribution center in Hampden to better serve areas like the Blue Hill Peninsula and surrounding communities.

The presentation is free and open to everyone.
