SEDGWICK — Mike Thalhauser from Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries will give a talk titled “A Fish Story: Communities Commit to Alewife Resurgence” on Thursday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Sedgwick School library.
The talk is about the towns of Brooksville, Sedgwick and Penobscot and their commitment to monitor, manage and harvest alewives in Walker Pond and the Bagaduce River.
Thalhauser will discuss basic alewife life history and the monitoring and restoration work being done in Walker Pond and in the Bagaduce River to encourage their resurgence.
