Sullivan Man Charged With Stalking

ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Police Department has charged a Sullivan man with stalking a local woman.

Cristian Cox, 40, allegedly started stalking the woman after she declined an invitation to go out around Memorial Day, said Lt. Harold Page. The two had no previous relationship.

Cox had been following the woman around and talking to her.

He “just wouldn’t take no for an answer,” Page said.

The alleged behavior went on for about a week until the woman contacted police, the lieutenant said. Officer Paul Gamble summoned Cox on June 8.
