Story slam and more at Jesup Library

BAR HARBOR — The Jesup Memorial Library is hosting another Words Unleashed! Story Slam on Friday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m.

Stories must be your own, told in the first person and be no more than five minutes long.

The Jesup hosts Words Unleashed! story slams every other month throughout the year, alternating with Verse Unleashed! poetry slams.

On Wednesday, Jan. 24, from 6-8 p.m., the library is hosting a “do your own thing” intergenerational art night.

The library will provide the materials, while participants will provide the creativity.

On Thursday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m., the library will host a screening of the film “Screenagers.”

In “Screenagers,” filmmaker Delaney Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction.

There will be a facilitated discussion following the film.

For more information on any of these events, call the library at 288-4245.
