STONINGTON — The Stonington Events and Promotions Committee has planned several holiday events on Saturday, Dec. 1, starting with a craft fair and ending with a dance at the Stonington Opera House.
The annual holiday fair will be held at the Island Community Center on School Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The fair features 35 tables of holiday decorations, art, crafts, jewelry, toys and food.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus also will be there so children will have a chance to meet him, have photos taken with him (bring your own camera) and decorate cookies.
A holiday table centerpiece-making workshop will be held on the second floor of the Town Hall on Main Street from 2 to 4 p.m. Materials will be provided. There is a small fee.
Relay for Life will hold a seafood chowder supper at the community center from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Opera House dance, featuring the band Hoot from Blue Hill, will start at 7 p.m.
Stonington Economic Development Director Matthew Skolnikoff said shops downtown would be staying open until at least 6 p.m.
