Songwriter Showcase in Southwest Harbor

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — On Friday, Jan. 19, Coda restaurant in Southwest Harbor will host a special singer-songwriter event, the Songwriter Showcase.

Host Bowen Swersey has written more than 50 songs, and with his former band, The Beatroots, sold over 2,000 albums in Maine.

Also appearing will be Erika Rosso of Southwest Harbor, who will play a set of her own songs; Rick Barter, who has been making music for over 50 years; Gordon Falt, who will perform for the first time since 2013; Gus LaCasse, a folk fiddler with both speed and savage energy; and Ty Openshaw, who at a young age created a guitar and vocal wall of sound by playing his instruments in combination with a loop pedal.

Doors open at 4 p.m. for happy hour, and music starts at 7. Coda will have a full bar and be featuring sausages by Colvard & Co. and other small plates. There will be a $5 cover charge at the door.
