Solar Energy Talk Set for April 17

ELLSWORTH — A program titled “Solar Energy in Maine and Around the World” is scheduled for Sunday, April 17, at 3 p.m. at the Ellsworth Unitarian Universalist Church.

Richard Komp will be the speaker.

Komp teaches people in Maine and around the world how to make low-cost solar energy devices. In this past year, he has held workshops in Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Peru, Nicaragua, Colombia and many other places. As a physicist, he has developed new low-cost techniques and adapted his devices to use materials that are available in whatever locality he finds himself.
