Services Slated at Historic Church

GOULDSBORO — The Union Church of West Gouldsboro, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, will host two worship services this year.

The first is Sunday, July 17, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Donald Ashmall will lead the service. Ashmall is council minister of the International Council of Community Churches with offices in Frankfort, Ill., and member churches in the United States, Canada and 17 overseas nations. Refreshments will be served following the informal service.

Although the building has not seen regular weekly services for over 50 years, area residents have maintained and restored the building, using it for weddings, funerals and two summer worship services each year. The second service will be Aug. 14. The pubic is invited to both services.
