TRENTON — Artist Kaitlyn Metcalf of Trenton will introduce new works from her “Starboard Series” and introduce works from her “Maine Men Series” in a solo show titled, “Promises of P.O.S.H.
The show is currently on display at Schoodic Arts for All’s Hammond Hall on Main Street in Winter Harbor, where an opening reception with the artist is scheduled for Friday, April 22, from 5 to 8 p.m.
In “Promises of P.O.S.H.,” Metcalf says, she strives to illustrate the romantic side of the sea through the use of dynamic seafaring vessels. Works are rendered in acrylic paint, juxtaposed over nautical charts and shown alongside large scale, barnacle-adorned, painted portraits of the men who captain them.
The show will be on display through May at Hammond Hall.
Ms. Metcalf is a 2007 honors graduate of Maine College of Art in Portland and was an Acadia National Park artist-in-residence in 2009. For more information, visit MossKeepStudio.com.
