Red Tide Closes Isle au Haut

AUGUSTA — In eastern Maine, the Maine Department of Marine Resources (DMR) created a mussel closure around Isle au Haut.

Low-level toxin is showing up in the Jonesport area, and the DMR had to expand the mussel closure at the easternmost end of the state, which now starts at Cape Wash in Cutler, and runs to the Canadian border. DMR also has detected the first low-level scores in clams in the Gleason Cove area.
