Red Cross Classes Set in Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH — The Red Cross will be offering several classes in July and August for anyone interested in becoming a volunteer.


The classes will be held at the Ellsworth Community Center (formerly the B.E. Moore School) on Wednesday evenings. The classes will prepare participants to assist in local and national disasters.


The class scheduled is as follows:

  • July 20, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Disaster Services: An Overview.
  • July 27, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Psychological First Aid.
  • Aug. 3, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Shelter Operations.
  • Aug. 10, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Disaster Assessment.

All of the classes are free. Space is limited, so pre-registration is recommended by calling the Pine Tree Chapter at 941-2903, ext. 103.
