Ready for Winter

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Selectmen on Tuesday approved spending $127,900 for the purchase of a new truck for the public works department.

The 2007 Freightliner is a demo model with 3,000 miles. The truck includes a stainless steel dump body, snow plow, sander and tanks for liquid road salt.

The town received bids from three dealers for trucks. After discussing the pros and cons of each truck, selectmen went with interim public works director Donald Lagrange’s recommendation to buy the Freightliner.
