Rainbow Girls Hold Officer Installation

ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth Assembly International Order of the Rainbow for Girls recently held an installation of officers. Jackie Fraser was installed as worthy advisor of the assembly.

The officers were installed by Samantha Getchell, grand worthy associate advisor of the state of Maine. The theme of the afternoon was Hollywood. Ellsworth Assembly was honored to have members of Peaks Pike Assembly in Colorado join them for the installation. Leah Patten, from Peaks Pike, Colo., is the grand representative from Colorado to Maine for 2012-2013. The Grand Assembly service projects this year are supporting the Merrill Rainbow Campground and Maine Search and Rescue Dogs. Ellsworth Assembly No. 9 meets in Ellsworth at the Ellsworth Masonic Hall on the first and third Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The organization invites any girl between the ages of 11-20 to make application to join. The organization sponsors a pledge group for girls from the ages of 8-11 years. These girls enjoy crafts, do service projects and have meetings before the Rainbow Girls meet. The pledge group meets at the Ellsworth Masonic Hall from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month from September through June.
