Program set for Sullivan residents

SULLIVAN — Age-Friendly Sullivan invites all adult residents of Sullivan to attend a session titled “Sullivan Listens to YOU” on Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Sorrento-Sullivan Recreation Center.

The center is located at 1776 U.S. Highway 1 in Sullivan. Refreshments, lunch and door prizes will be provided.

Patricia Oh, a consultant with AARP Maine, will present the keynote speech on “Building Livable, Age-Friendly Communities in Maine.”

During this event, the results of the recent survey completed by residents that focuses on aspects of the community that are important to them will be shared.

Participants will share their vision and values in order to advise the town on priorities for an action plan for Sullivan. They will have an opportunity to vote for a priority challenge project to be completed within 100 days and sign-up for volunteer opportunities available throughout Sullivan.

Age-Friendly Sullivan is an ad-hoc committee of volunteers working to engage the community to assess data, develop and implement an action plan and evaluate progress as we build a livable community for all.
