Police renovations

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Town manager Robin Bennett reported Tuesday that a final design for renovating the police station is nearly complete and should be ready for a pre-bid meeting with engineers in mid-April.

It was expected that the town would have to rent space for the police department while the renovations are under way. But, according to town officials, the fire department has offered the fire station as temporary quarters for police, resulting in a reduction in the cost of the project.
