What: Penobscot Annual Town Meeting
When: Tuesday, March 2, at 7 p.m.
Where: Penobscot Community School gym
On the Agenda: Penobscot voters will be asked whether to enact two ordinances that would temporarily ban wind and communication tower projects in town. The Industrial Wind Turbine Moratorium Town of Penobscot and Commercial Communication Tower Moratorium Town of Penobscot are the final articles in this year’s warrant. In other business, voters will consider how much money to appropriate to the Blue Hill Public Library. The library requested $3,300. The Finance Committee recommended no contribution. Another article requests the transfer of $2,195.82 from surplus to cover an overdraft in the 2009 snow removal account. Voters will also be asked to appropriate money to the school septic loan account. The Finance Committee recommends raising $15,000 from taxes and $15,000 from surplus.
Municipal Elections: Monday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Penobscot Community School
On the Ballot: There are no contested races in this year’s municipal election and no candidates for three posts.

For town clerk: Mary Ellen Gross
For School Board (two three-year seats): Jody Norton and Karrie Prescott. One-year seat: no candidates
For Finance Committee (two seats): No candidates
