ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Public Library is holding a free three-part workshop series helping Hancock County residents organize their lives.
Brenda Cartwright, owner of The Organizer Inc., has helped people simplify their lives and pare down their belongings for 20 years. She will hold three hourlong sessions from 1 to 2 p.m. on Jan. 9 and 23 and Feb. 13. The themes will be “Organize Your Goals,” “Organize Your Papers!” and “Organize Your Kitchen!” respectively. Participants are asked to share their thoughts, ask questions and identify specific challenges for each session.
At the first session, Cartwright will focus on the importance of setting goals, what the pitfalls are and how to improve one’s success rate.
The second session is on how to control the paper flowing through your life. Cartwright will offer tips on retention, filing and desk systems. She encourages people to throw their paperwork in a bag and bring it along. “We will have time to do one person’s pile as a ‘live’ demonstration,” she said.
The third session will focus on the organization of the kitchen. Cartwright will demonstrate using the library’s kitchen cupboards and drawers.
