Open house at Cottontail Cottage

LAMOINE — Cottontail Cottage Rabbit Sanctuary in Lamoine will be holding its last open house for the year, “Christmas at Cottontail Cottage,” on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The public is invited to meet the nearly 60 bunnies that reside at the sanctuary, while warming up by a bonfire with hot cocoa and bakery-made cookies (vegan and most are gluten-free).

Events include the popular holiday wreath fundraiser. Wreaths are $30 and all proceeds go toward supporting the charitable, nonprofit sanctuary. There will also be a craft table for the kids, a gift table, barn tours and “Christmas Trees for the Bunnies” decorated with hand-crafted rabbit ornaments.

Some bunnies will be available for adoption (pre-approval required. Call ahead for more details.)

The sanctuary is located at 21 Cottontail Lane in Lamoine (a quarter-mile down the Shore Road before the Grange Hall). Parking will be on the right side of the road only.
