Night Sky Festival Events at SERC

WINTER HARBOR — The Schoodic Education and Research Center (SERC) Institute is once again participating in the Acadia Night Sky Festival and offering a series of events connected to the sky.

On Friday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. at Moore Auditorium, Sean Murphy will present “Smaller Than Clouds,” a live concert.

On Saturday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m., visitors are invited to explore the night world with an easy one-mile hike at SERC. Hikers should meet at Moore Auditorium. Space is limited and reservations are required. Call 288-1310 to reserve a space.

On Sunday, Sept. 16, SERC will host a star-studded day full of activities.

There will be a celebration of the sun from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Eliot Hall Courtyard and the Starlab Planetarium, a portable, inflatable planetarium, will be on hand from 2 to 4.

Evening activities include a night sky lecture from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and a star party at Schoodic from 8:30 to 10.
