The Annual Jolly Junior-sponsored Roadside Cleanup was held on Earth Day, April 22.

Congratulations to Peter and Emily Jordan on the birth of their daughter, Karamia Martha, born on April 9 weighing 8 pounds 12 ounces and measuring 20½ inches long. Proud grandparents are Paul and Verna Jordan and Tim and Louise Dickens!

The Waltham Fire Department will be hosting an open house and membership drive this Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All of our equipment will be on display and we will be demonstrating the Jaws of Life around 11. Our members will be on hand to answer any questions. There will also be door prizes, lots of informational material to take home and free beverages. The chief will also make his “two-alarm chili,” so stop on by and support your department!

The Cave Hill softball team is on a roll, having won its first two games! The girls are coached by Ralph Fowler and Leeanna Conners. Their next two games are on their home field, so come out to cheer them on! The games are on April 28 against Lamoine and on April 30 they play Surry. Games start at approximately 4 p.m.

The Jolly Junior second grade cloverbuds were busy last week getting ready for the annual County Style Revue on May 8. The boys tie-dyed T-shirts while the girls did a T-shirt embellishment project. The 4-Hers have been studying nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices, so a visit to Hannaford’s and the Knowlton School playground was a perfect ending. They made a healthy trail mix to enjoy at the playground. They would like to thank Catherine Homer and Jennifer Dunn for helping with the meeting and to Hannaford’s for a great tour!

The older Jolly Juniors boys recently had a sleepover complete with swimming, pizza and work on a fair project! The girls joined them the next day to make May Baskets (a club tradition started by Richard Hardison!). Many thanks to Dolly Hellum and Danielle Tardy for helping the club with this project!
