New High School Summer Robotics Opportunity

ORONO – Three cities in Maine will host the pilot program for Maine Robotics’ High School Summer Robotics Internship.  Bangor, Ellsworth and Gorham will each bring together 12 high school students, robotics instructors, and professional engineers and spend a week building a complex system as a group.Tom Bickford, Executive Director for Maine Robotics, will be leading the effort along with instructors from three of the State’s technical high schools.

The program will take advantage of the VEX robotics system and the week will be spent learning, planning, and building.  Bangor will run the week of July 6th; Ellsworth the week of July 27th; and Gorham the week of August 17th.

The program is funded by a number of grants, as well as space and time from the Hancock Technical Center, the United Technologies Center, and the Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology School at the University of Southern Maine.
