David Kee, Byron Vinton and Brian Leeman took the oath of office.

Veteran councilor Jeff Robinson was elected mayor for the ensuing year.

After the formalities, the three new councilors and four familiar faces delved into a lengthy agenda.

The council approved submitting a Public Infrastructure Community Development Block Grant application for drainage improvements in the area of Spring, Thomas, Spofford and Silver streets and Bagley Avenue. The $385,000 grant would also cover drainage improvements around Knox View Apartments and Wenbelle Apartments.

Total project costs would be about $525,000.
