Native Plants Program Slated

LAMOINE — The Lamoine Conservation Commission will host a program on Maine Native and Invasive plants on Wednesday, April 29, at 7 p.m. at the Lamoine Town Hall, 606 Douglas Highway.

Guest speaker Marjorie Peronto of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension has been invited to talk about conserving Maine’s native landscape and the plants to use and plants to avoid.

The presentation is designed to help people create a garden that focuses on native Maine plants and reduces the impact of invasive plant species.

The program is free and the public is invited. Light refreshments will be served.

The Lamoine Conservation Commission meets the second Wednesday of each month at the Town Hall and provides education about, and a forum to promote conservation in Lamoine. This program is one of several educational programs held throughout the year.
