Music library to host open house



BLUE HILL — The public is invited to attend the Bagaduce Music Lending Library’s spring open house at its new campus at 49 South St. in Blue Hill on Friday, June 8, between 4 and 6 p.m.

All are welcome to come learn more about the interesting and varied collection of sheet music and the programming planned for the summer season and beyond in the performance hall.

Tour the native gardens and hear about the planned nature trail with guides from Native Gardens of Blue Hill.

There will also be a chance to meet the new executive director, Teresa Myrwang Holum. The Gawler Family Band from Belfast will entertain in the performance hall and refreshments will be provided by Buxton Provisions.

The open house kicks off a weekend of events at the library’s campus to include a plant sale by Native Gardens of Blue Hill on Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon followed by local music students in concert at 2 p.m.

Joe Boulet, Yvonne Rogers and Will Miller will perform an evening of jazz on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

David Amado is offering a Brahms seminar on Symphony No. 2 on Sunday at 1 p.m. and Max Treitler and Heidi Powell with cello and violin will perform at 4 p.m.
