Museum hosting community picnic

CASTINE — Celebrate community through food at the Wilson Museum’s community picnic on Sunday, Aug. 28, from 2-5 p.m.

Fresh bread will be baked in the outdoor oven and cooking beans will be prepared in the bean hole for everyone to sample. All are welcome to bring a personal picnic to enjoy and a baked good to share potluck style.

The Darling’s ice cream truck will also be on hand with frozen treats. Proceeds will benefit youth programs at the Wilson Museum.

There will also be live music by Scott Cleveland, who will be performing original and reinterpreted jazz/R&B/blues/fusion/rock as a solo pianist and singer.

Visitors can also enjoy the museum’s living history activities (blacksmithing, woodworking and tours of the Perkins House) on the museum campus between 2 and 5 p.m.
