CASTINE — Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) and its professional campus planning team, Auburn-based Harriman Architects & Engineers, will host a series of community forums this spring to engage members of the campus and local communities in the early phases of a campus development plan.
The community forums are scheduled to take place in March and April, with two meeting times scheduled for each session to allow the public a choice of attending during the day or in the early evening. Introductory sessions are planned for Monday, March 8, at noon and 5 p.m., in the Harborview Room of the Harold Alfond Student Center on the MMA campus.
Follow-up sessions summarizing the incorporation of community input and showcasing preliminary schematic designs will be held on Monday, April 19, at noon and 5 p.m., also in the Harborview Room.
A special session specifically oriented toward the efforts of the ad-hoc Town of Castine/Maine Maritime Academy Waterfront Committee will be held on Monday, March 29, at 3 p.m., at the Castine Town Hall.
All sessions are open to the public and the community is encouraged to attend.
