Meeting on ranked choice voting set

BLUE HILL — Finn Melanson from the League of Women Voters of Maine Education Fund will present a free, educational program on ranked choice voting at the Blue Hill Public Library on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m.

On Nov. 8, Maine voters will head to the polls to weigh in on a number of referendum questions, including Question 5, which will ask voters whether to replace our current voting system with ranked choice voting (also known as instant runoff voting) for federal and state primary and general elections beginning in 2018.

The event is open to the public and community members of all belief systems, political affiliations and ages, and all are encouraged to attend to learn more about this issue. There will be a question-and-answer session following the presentation.

For more information, please contact Finn Melanson at [email protected]/420-0469 or the library at 374-5515.
