Medley to Teach Volleyball Camp

MOUNT DESERT — Monday is the deadline to sign up for volleyball camp taught by noted coach Sue Medley on Aug. 7 and 8 at the Mount Desert Island Elementary School for athletes from grades six to 12.

Coach Medley said she brings a passion for the game, more than 20 years of collegiate volleyball coaching experience and a desire to work with Maine volleyball athletes to all of her work. She has served at the collegiate level at the University of Maine, Cornell University; Kansas State University; and Saint Mary’s College. Today she directs USA Volleyball’s Regional High Performance Program. She has received a Meritorious Service Award from USA Volleyball.

She remains involved with the Maine Volleyball Coaches Association, a group she co-founded in 2000. She has also coached internationally.

Costs are $125 for those in grades nine to 12, and $50 for those in grades six to eight. Camp enrollment will be limited to the first 32 athletes who register and submit deposits. A 50 percent non-refundable deposit is due by the registration deadline of Monday, June 28. Payment in full must be received by Saturday, July 31.
