MCMH Preparing For Flu Season

ELLSWORTH — Maine Coast Memorial Hospital is preparing for the upcoming seasonal flu season.

Clinics will be scheduled as seasonal flu vaccine becomes available. The initial delivery will be used to inoculate Maine Coast Memorial Hospital employees to ensure a healthy work force during the flu season.

The Maine Center for Disease Control has recommended that students be vaccinated for seasonal flu early in the season, followed by the H1N1 vaccine when it becomes available.

Maine Coast Memorial Hospital will be collaborating with the schools in Regional School Unit 24 to accomplish that initiative and will be holding seasonal flu clinics at school locations in the coming weeks.

The schedule of flu clinics will be published as soon as it becomes available. To stay up to date, visit Maine Coast Memorial Hospital’s Web site at
