The following are some of the donated goodies the eighth grade students and their parents have been busy soliciting, gift certificates from: Rooster Brother, Shear Designs, Fashion Bug, Mr. Paperback, China Hill, Walmart, Pat’s Pizza, Finelli Pizza and Ellsworth Chain Saw. The following will also be auctioned: a snow tube from Branch Pond Marine, a night’s lodging at the Eagle’s Lodge and a case of motor oil from Parts Plus. Donations continue to come in. We won’t have a chance to list them all before the auction, but you will be able to see them as they come in at the silent auction, which begins on Wednesday, March 18, in the school lobby. See you Saturday, March 21, at the 9:30 preview, just a few hours before the MFD Clowns take on grades K-3 in a 6 p.m. basketball game.
Speaking of ball, it’s my favorite time of year, baseball and softball time that is. Thank you to Rich Cole and Chuck Carter, who will return as softball coaches. A search for a baseball coach continues. If you would like to apply, please contact Mrs. Metzler at the school.
Come to see the display of creativity and talent at the ASP’s 2nd Annual Art Show on March 25 at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be available.
The Mariaville Town Meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 30, at BHS at 7 p.m.
I was pleased to get a call from Sharyn Farrin in response to a request for more good news from the community. Sharyn announced the birth of her seventh grandchild, Adrianna Mae Herrick. Adrianna was born to Stacey and Toby Herrick of Mariaville. Proud grandparents are Bruce and Sharyn Farrin of Ellsworth and Robert and Beth Herrick of Mariaville. Three-year-old brother Andrew Jacob is excited to have a baby sister. We wish all hearty congratulations.
