Mariaville-Otis News of Neighbors

The Otis Baptist Church has donated classroom supplies consisting of markers, crayons, folders, notepaper, tissues, pencils and more to grades K-5.

Staff and students wish to thank these community members for their continuing support.

The Otis School Committee will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. The RSU 24 School Board will meet at Sumner High School on Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 6:30 p.m.

As promised in a recent column, we have more information about the Christmas Coffee House being sponsored by the “What’s for Suppa?” Food Pantry at the Mariaville Grange on Saturday, Dec. 5. Showtime is 7 p.m. Coffee, tea and cider will be offered at no charge and desserts will be for sale. Admission is only $5 for adults and $1 for children, a mere pittance for entertainment by the ASP Troubadours, the Otis Baptist Church and the famous Jimmy Barnes.

The Beech Hill After School Program is sponsoring a Gingerbread House Exhibit to take place Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the school, before and after the holiday concert (scheduled to begin at 6:30). Adults, individuals and groups are welcome to enter a gingerbread house in this event.

Please e-mail [email protected] to register your house or call 537-2203. Houses may be dropped off at the school on the Dec. 15 between 4 and 6:15 p.m.

Mariaville residents are reminded to complete and return the three-question survey recently received in the mail from the RSU 24 School Board. Your opinions on issues related to school choice and the future operation of Beech Hill School are important and necessary.

Please e-mail [email protected] or call 537-2200 with your community news.
