Mariaville-Otis News of Neighbors

The U.S. Census Bureau has an urgent need to hire several workers to conduct the 2010 census in Mariaville, Otis, Osborn and Amherst. Please call (866) 861-2010 for more information or to schedule an appointment for testing.

Say goodbye to the card catalog as it goes the way of so many things that have been a part of our lives for generations. Say hello to Destiny software as head library volunteer Barbara Davis prepares the Beech Hill School library to move into the 21st century. With the software in place all libraries in Regional School Unit 24 (RSU 24) can be accessed. It is anticipated that an inter-library loan system will eventually be developed within RSU 24 schools. Go to www.library.rsu24.org and click on Beech Hill School to learn about this exciting new process.

RSU 24 will be conducting meetings as part of the districtwide budget development process. The local meeting will be held at BHS March 11 at 6:30 p.m. The two topics that will be addressed at this meeting are:

↑ What do you value most in our school?

↑ What factors should be considered in deciding budget reductions?

Get ready for the Mariaville Town Meeting on March 29 and don’t forget the Snowdown for good food and square and contra dancing on March 4.
