Library hosting online lecture

BLUE HILL — As part of the Blue Hill Public Library’s Robert K. and Linda B. Slaven Lecture Series, journalist and author Issac J. Bailey will share from his new book, “Why Didn’t We Riot?: A Black Man in Trumpland,” on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m.

In his book, Bailey reveals the cyclical forces of deeply rooted, systemic racism, the legacy of the Jim Crow South and the intertwining of race, poverty, violence, drug abuse, all realities, in his view, exacerbated by and reflected in the Trump presidency.

The Robert K. and Linda B. Slaven Lecture Series seeks to bring distinguished speakers with expertise in a wide array of subjects to the Blue Hill community, to share their knowledge on topics of importance to the community and the world. It is supported by a gift from the Anahata Foundation.

This will be an online event held via Zoom. All are welcome, but advance registration is required. Register using the library’s web calendar at bhpl.net to receive the link to join.
