Library hosting online birding talk

BAR HARBOR — The Jesup Memorial Library is sponsoring a virtual talk, “Birds of Maine,” with Barbara Vickery and Scott Weidensaul, on Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m.

All are welcome to join co-editors Vickery and Weidensaul as they talk about the book “Birds of Maine,” which is the first comprehensive guide to Maine’s birdlife published in almost seven decades. The book features detailed accounts of all 464 bird species that have been recorded throughout the state and features information on migration patterns and timing, current status and changes in bird abundance and distribution as well as how Maine’s geography and shifting climate mold its birdlife. The guide delves into the conservation status for Maine’s birds, as well as the state’s unusually textured ornithological history.

Registration is required to receive the Zoom link for this event.
