Starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, the Owls Head transportation Museum invites children to bring their bikes for a free spring safety checkup and chance to ride in the bicycle parade at noon. Kids can also bring their kites (homemade or otherwise) to fly and see stunt kite flying demonstrations by members of the Nor’easters Kite Club from Portland. Other events include mountain bike demos by the Maine Junior Bike League and New England Mountain Bike Association; a hot air balloon inflation demonstration; highwheel bicycle demonstrations by The Wheelmen; and free Model T rides. Free kite-building workshops will be offered throughout the day. Museum admission is free for all children under 18 during 2009. For more information, visit www.owlshead.org.
