Hospice support groups starting



ELLSWORTH — Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County is offering a fall series of support groups for those grieving the death of a loved one.

All groups are free of charge but require pre-registration.

The Widows and Widowers group will run for eight consecutive Thursdays from Oct. 10 to Dec. 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The group will not meet Nov. 28. Participants are invited to bring a bag lunch.

A support group for parents who have lost a teen or adult child will run for seven Wednesdays from Oct. 16 to Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A group for adults who have lost a parent or sibling will be offered for seven weeks beginning Tuesday, Oct. 8, and running through Nov. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A group for those whose loved one died through violence – murder or suicide will meet for six Mondays, Oct. 21 through Nov. 25, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

A group for those who have lost a veteran loved one will meet for six Thursdays, Oct. 17 through Nov. 21, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

All support groups meet at the Hospice Volunteers of Hancock County house in Ellsworth.
