Homecoming Set At GSA Oct. 7-9

BLUE HILL — On Oct. 7, 8 and 9, George Stevens Academy will welcome alumni and friends to campus for a weekend of Homecoming events.

This is possibly the first ever homecoming hosted by GSA, and the school intends to make this an annual event in years to come.

The main attractions will be boys’ varsity and JV soccer games on Friday followed by a steel drum dance and bonfire; girls’ varsity soccer on Saturday along with a barbecue tailgate party; an alumni reception and open mic at Barncastle on Saturday evening; morning and afternoon golf tournaments at the Blue Hill Country Club on Sunday; and a 4K race on Sunday morning.

An alumni fine art show will be on display all weekend. On Friday afternoon, guests are welcome to attend a tea and hear remarks from Paul Perkinson, who joined GSA in July as head of school.

Finally, the weekend will conclude with a performance of scenes from “The Wizard of Oz” by the New Surry Theatre.
