Holiday events set in Blue Hill



BLUE HILL — The Blue Hill Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and the Blue Hill Heritage Trust have announced that the annual tree lighting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7.

The festivities will begin at 3:30 p.m. with an open house at the Blue Hill Historical Society.

The Blue Hill Public Library will host ornament making at 4 p.m.

The First Congregational Church of Blue Hill will be showing the cartoon movie “The Snowman” at 4:30.

Other family events will be held in the Blue Hill Town Hall beginning at 4:30, including wreath and ornament making, face painting, cookie decorating, hot cider, hot cocoa, hot soup, popcorn, music and a visit from Santa at 6.

Shops in town will be open for holiday shopping. Luminaries will light the way for business and organizations that are open. For a complete list of events and happenings, contact Executive Director Lori Sitzabee at the chamber at [email protected]

The Blue Hill Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is also sponsoring a door decorating contest for chamber members around the peninsula. Any organization or business interested in participating, should contact Sitzabee at [email protected]

Judging will take place beginning at noon on Dec. 7. The winners will be announced at the tree lighting.
