SURRY — A public meeting of the Surry Historical Society will be held on Monday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m. at the Old Town Hall, located at 1217 Surry Road (Route 172).
Educator and historian Terry Christy will talk about stagecoach lines, mail delivery and river traffic in the region from 1825-1845.
Tour the hall (built 1825) and view the society’s collection of 100 historic farming, fishing and lumbering tools and artifacts.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
