CASTINE — The Castine Historical Society is hosting a free program titled “Treasures in Our Own Backyard” on Thursday, June 21, at 7 p.m.
The event includes pop-up exhibits from the Orland Historical Society, Blue Hill Historical Society, Castine Historical Society and Wilson Museum.
The program will give participants the chance to view interesting collection items, as well as to hear brief talks on one collection piece from each institution that has a particularly fascinating story.
The Castine Historical Society preserves local history and hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions, lectures, town walking tours, house and garden tours and historic re-enactments in its Abbott School exhibit gallery at 17 School St. in Castine.
