Historic Programs

BAR HARBOR – The Bar Harbor Historical Society will host two programs in June.

On Sunday, June 7, the speaker will be Tim Torrey, owner of The Old Creamery Antique Mall in Ellsworth and The Country Store in Trenton. He will talk about restoration, value and becoming an antique dealer. One item may be brought to the program for Mr. Torrey for appraisal.

On Sunday, June 14, the speaker will be Earle Shettleworth, director of the Maine Historic Presentation Commission. His talk called “The Silent Sentinels” is about the Civil War Monuments in Maine – Bar Harbor’s being on Mount Desert Street in the Village Cemetery. Both programs are at 2 p.m. at the museum, 33 Ledgelawn Ave. The historical society opens for the season on Monday, June 15.
