Hearings Set for Blue Hill Sewer Extension

BLUE HILL — Property owners to be served by two sewer line extensions can learn more about the specific plans at two informational hearings this month.

Selectmen last Friday scheduled hearings for March 30 and March 31 to be held at the Town Hall, starting at 6:30 each night.

All abutters to the project, which will extend the municipal sewer line down South Street and down Mines Road, will be notified of the hearings by mail. Representatives from Olver Associates of Winterport, the environmental engineering firm designing the project, will attend the hearings along with selectmen. Property owners served by the proposed sewer line extension will have the opportunity to view design plans, including individual property connections to the sewer system.

Selectman John Bannister said property owners can request any changes in the plans. Once the project specifications are finalized, the project will be put out to bid.

Maps depicting extensions down South Street and down Mines Road will be available both nights, and property owners along either route can ask questions or seek specific design information on either night.
