Healthy Acadia to offer Recovery Coach Academy

ELLSWORTH — Healthy Acadia is offering the Recovery Coach Academy, a 30-hour training session developed by Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR), from Sept. 24-27 at the Ramada Inn, 215 High St., Ellsworth.

The training is for those interested in serving as peer-to-peer coaches for individuals seeking recovery from substance use.

The training will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Recovery Coach Academy, led by Healthy Acadia’s, CCAR-authorized recovery coach trainers, Terri Woodruff, and Denise Black, is a highly interactive four-day training using curriculum developed by the CCAR. It provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to guide and mentor others through their own recovery process.

The Recovery Coach Academy is being offered at no cost to participants through the Maine Alliance for Recovery Coaching.

While the session will be offered at no cost to participants, pre-registration is required. Priority will be given to residents of Hancock and Washington counties who are interested in serving as volunteer recovery coaches in their communities.
